Privacy Policy
This starter policy explains the privacy direction for AskLocalLaw. A jurisdiction-specific legal review should happen before public launch.
Information users provide
Users may enter a legal issue, location details, contact preferences, and optional preparation notes. The site should avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive information.
Location information
Device location should be requested only after a user action. The user should be able to enter location manually and distinguish current location from the incident location.
Sharing with lawyers
AskLocalLaw should not share a user's case information with a lawyer unless the user reviews the exact summary and gives explicit consent.
Retention and deletion
Users should be able to request deletion of stored account, case, location, and document metadata. Future evidence uploads should use secure object storage and retention controls.
Security
Future production versions should include access controls, audit logs, encryption for sensitive fields, malware scanning interfaces, and careful API-key protection.
